The primary goal of the Mental Health Action Program (MHAP) is to connect those who need it to mental health treatment. MHAP uses mental health case management to reduce the individual's barriers to care, walk with them through the treatment process and provide support throughout.

Environmental Health
As a certified health department, the Mercer County Health Department (MCHD), through a Local Health Protection Grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), conducts regulatory programs to help ensure safe food is served at local establishments, private on-site wastewater systems properly dispose sewage, and new and existing water wells provide safe drinking (potable) water. The Environmental Health Program also enforces local and state laws related to tanning and body art facilities.
Environmental Health also provides education related to annual mosquito surveillance, prevention, and education program.
